I have been teaching Yoga for over 27 years. During my journey I have completed a Diploma of Yoga Training (ASQA - nationally recognised training). I am a qualified Yoga Therapist, having completed the Graduate Certificate in Yoga Therapy in 2022, with the Yoga Therapy Institute.
I have completed Level 1 and 2 Therapeutic Yoga at Unite Health with Irene Ais. This course was designed to help tailor the needs of the yoga practitioner, so that Yoga is taught safely and caters for everybody's needs.
I also attended Iyengar classes on a regular basis - with Ballarat Iyengar Yoga - for 7 years. Although quite a different style to my own training, it has deepened my understanding of Asana (physical posture), precision alignment principles and postural imbalances.
My Yoga classes are balanced with mainly slow and gentle Asanas with breath awareness, encouraging the student to maintain awareness of the practice (mindfulness) in a non-competitive environment. A slow and quiet approach helps calm and quieten the mind.

The Yoga for Health & Relaxation classes (Tuesdays & Fridays) are suitable for those who are reasonably fit and/or have done some Yoga before.
The Yoga for Spinal Health class (Wednesdays is suitable for those who are new to Yoga, those wishing to improve their core strength, and those who have some spinal issues or joint mobility restrictions.
All of Audrey's classes have a strong emphasis on breath awareness and introspection in an environment of non-competitiveness.
All classes consist of Yoga postures (Asanas), deep relaxation (Yoga Nidra) and breath practices (Pranayama).
The Yoga for Spinal Health class begins with a short relaxation and the Yoga for Health & Relaxation classes begin with a short meditation/settling practice.
Demonstration and clear verbal instructions are given to help internalise the awareness. This helps to prepare the body and mind for Pranayama and Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation and awareness).
The aim of Yoga is to improve strength, flexibility, energy and balance. It also helps to quieten the nervous system and ultimately stills the mind.
Principles of care are incorporated - such as abdominal bracing, shoulder and hip stability and working within the limits of pain and stiffness. Modifications are given for any injuries, health issues and mobility restrictions.
